MY HERO – CHRIS FROOME
One of the most famous road cyclists, Chris Froome is the heartthrob of millions. This 26 year old races for Team Sky and is liked by many. Being born in Kenya, he started his career with Kenyan cycling federation but now is a true British citizen and rides under British License. Chris started his career with thrilling mountain biking. After that, having shifted to road racing, adopted climbing as his specialization.
Chris Froome made the first career breakthrough as a Grand Tour contender during the 2011 Vuelta a Espana. He eventually finished in the second position overall. During his early days, he started his pursuing his passion for cycling with a South African Team Konica Minolta. After racing for Team Barloworld and being part of Tour de France, in 2010, chris joined the Team Sky of Britain. Standing in the 9th position at Tour du Haut Var and being in the second position at the 2010 British National Time Trial Championships, he proved his outstanding capability in the time trial. He finished at the top 15 in the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon and Tour de Romandie.
On the second half of 2011, Chris Froome attached himself with a new contract for Team Sky which will continue for three years. He was an essential member of the Great Britain Team assisting Cavendish to win the UCI World Road Race Championship in the same year. In the Tour de Suisse along with his team, competed stage by stage and after a long battle, he eventually finished at the second position in the overall tour. Being one of the most promising riders, right now, he is sure to emerge as a pioneer in the sport of cycle racing. With his immense potential and unique style Chris Froome is definitely a force to reckon with.
